Save some money!
Published Friday, August 31st 2007 - Updated Thursday, December 13th 2007Just thought I would take a minute to pass along some budget cruise ideas for everyone!
First of all, one of the cheap times of year to cruise is during hurricane season. People avoid cruising the Caribbean during this time for fear of having their vacation interrupted by a storm... which is always a possibility of course. If you are flexible, and don't mind having a possible change in your itinerary during your cruise, I say go for it. Travel insurance is really important to have, not just during storm season, so this should not even be a concern for the savvy traveler. We have cruised during storm season many times, skirted a tropical storm once, but never missed a beat. You save some cash, have a great vaca, and you are happy!
Second, on or around major holidays. Thanksgiving, "Winter holidays", and New Years. Cheaper fares, TONS OF EXTRA AMMENITIES, you just cannot loose. You have to be flexible, and be the kind of person that can be absent during the holidays, but it is awesome. There is a cruise that leaves the week before Christmas and my jaw dropped when I saw what they were offering. Really, it is worth looking into.
Third, repositioning cruises. During certain seasons of the year, ships are diverted to Europe and Alaska. Ships are also moved to other ports. These cruises have less ports of call and more days at sea and are often longer than traditional cruises, so they may not be a destination cruisers bag. They are also one way trips so you have to fly back from your final destination. But, the good news is, they are cheap! They have a need to make money during transitions, and you need a cheap cruise. Sounds like everyone wins!
So that's it, just a little info to help you guys out. When you are ready, give us a call! We will find something perfect for you. Don't forget we also offer Continuing Medical Education courses at sea. We have had an incredible response to this new offering! Thanks for reading, hope all of your sails are good ones :)
