Hotel Scams
With cheap fares you get cheap service – or in other words…”you get what you pay for.”
There is a practice among hotels that has become known as a SCAM and the name it has been given is “Walking”. What happens is a hotel over-books and when you arrive to the hotel with no room available, they will “walk” you. You will be set up in another hotel that is “comparable” to the one you reserved. Of course, you already know that “comparable” does not mean “the same”. So when you arrive at your new hotel, you find out there is no restaurant or it is further away instead of in the middle of town…you get the idea.
A benefit of booking with Cruise and Vacation Paradise (a Cruise Planners franchise and an American Express Travel Partner) is that I can make your booking through my American Express Travel Partner affiliation and you will be guaranteed not to be “walked”. I cannot in good conscious say that nothing will EVER happen, because things DO happen. In that case, there is a Customer Service number that will be given to you which is available 24/7 should any issues arise in your reservations.
Keep in mind, this type of option will NOT be the cheapest option, but isn’t your peace of mind worth just a little extra money?
