Wednesday

Again with the bright light at 4AM!!!  Today we have a big day planned.  We are scheduled for the White Pass Train & Bicycle Tour.  We meet our guide and head off to the White Pass & Yukon Railway.  LOVED the train ride!  Joel froze his butt off to take some great pictures, so be sure to check them out at http://picasaweb.google.com/CruisersParadise.  The railway goes 20 miles to the Fraser station in British Columbia Canada.  IT IS FREEZING OUT!!  We are driven down about 5 miles and are given bikes, rain gear, gloves, etc. all of which help keep us as warm as possible.  We start out biking down in the clouds but after a couple of miles we come out of the clouds and have this incredible view as we coast the 15 miles down the mountain into Skagway.  Ok, it’s not ALL coasting.  There is one spot where we have a “slight” incline – HA!  I have to get off my bike and walk the rest of the way up this little hill, but apparently I’m not alone – thank goodness.  We spend some time walking around town & checking out the tourist-trap shops.  Lunch is at the Red Onion Saloon.  We both have a cup of chili which turns out to be very good.  We considered doing a tour of the Brothel, but the next tour isn’t for another hour, so we decide to leave.  I tried to get Joel to take a picture with one of the Madams, but he chickened out – darn.

We head back to the ship and I notice I’m not feeling too well.  Back on the ship and yep, I’m sick.  I skip dinner.  Joel ran out to the buffet to grab a bite for dinner.  Spent the evening in our room.

Thursday

Not too much to say.  The ship is headed to Prince Rupert, Canada.  I’m not feeling well at all and spend the day in the room.  I ordered room service (grilled cheese with a side of mac n cheese – not very good at all).  For dinner, Joel wanted to try sushi, so he set out to Ginza and rather enjoyed his sushi experience.

Friday

Today is a day at sea.  I’m still sick so I spend the day in our room.  By dinner time I’m feeling better and decide to try eat something.  We wanted to see if the pay restaurants had food that was better than the main dining rooms so we went to Le Bistro.  VERY good!  This is the quality of food I expect when on a cruise.... but I had to pay extra for it and that's just not right!
